I thought the Pennsic-panic dreams were only supposed to occur before the event.  You know the ones - you get lost in the Bog at night, you didn't bring enough money for all the cool merchandise, you get caught in the rain wearing just a chemise...

But I have had two post-Pennsic nightmares now, each involving mud.

I remember the one from last night really well.  There was a hillside full of parked cards, and some areas were still grassy, and some had been churned to mud.  The hill wasn't as steep as the actual Pennsic parking, but I could still see cars sliding down the hill as the muddy ground gave way beneath them.  Some of the cars don't even have people in them, so it's not necessarily drivers getting stuck in the mud - the ground was just too soft to hold a car's weight.  I remember feeling sick to my stomach and starting to run towards the biggest tangle of cars, all smashed into each other like a demoliton derby.

Luckily, I managed wake myself up from this one before anybody got crushed into the mud beneath a car... I seem to recall that's how the first one ended.

Now, my car didn't actually get hit in the parking lot at Pennsic.  [profile] lady_grainne's car got hit twice!  Nor did my car, or any car I was riding in, get stuck.  So I'm surprised that I'm having this kind of dream...  Hopefully they will stop soon.

Getting out of the parking lot was interesting. In a way, I'm glad I could only park all the way up on the second hill, beyond the trailers. I just stuck my brothers truck in 4lo and was fine. Many other victims weren't so lucky....I guess next year we will see a lot more 4wd trucks. :-)

I'm always disoriented when I switch back to sleeping inside cause the roof is not like a tent canvas.

I always have the nightmare that I've fallen asleep in the common tent, naked.

It only rained heavily one day last year, but with that and the dew I've already had one slip-slidin' away adventure when I tried to park a "leetle" too far down one of those hills...I had to do a reverse-slalom to get back out.
