Too many projects
Oct. 12th, 2008 05:40 pm...too little time. I probably lost half a day trying to decide to which of my many projects I should devote my attention. The felted boots won. I am hoping to do a felting demo at St. Luke's (I am only expecting one entry to have to judge, at this point so there should be plenty of time for activities), and so I thought it would be nice to display an awesome finished project.
The awesome part is still TBD.
Well they are closer to being finished anyway. The inner (brown) and outer (white) layers comingled during the felting process, and now the boots are unevenly brown. Sounds like tomorrow I need to take a walk down to the creek to collect some walnut husks. I'll dye the boots brown or black (depending on whether I can find my iron mordant) and then it will all be ok.
I have a felted piece to cut and applique on the boots that I dyed with lac today. DOH! Somehow it came out maroon instead of red, so it might need a quick dip in a walnut dyebath too. Or something yellow... hmm. So many options. There I go adding more projects onto my queue. I will get back to the 12th Night garb at some point...
